GRIME Definitive Edition is now out on the Nintendo Switch!
Since first launching on PC about two and a half years ago, GRIME has grown to one of the biggest projects that Akupara brought to bear. Finalizing GRIME with the final expansion, Parting Shade, and to the final platform, the Nintendo Switch, is pretty emotional, like closing an amazing book. Happy to have brought the game as far as we did but sad to see it end.
The Definitive Edition includes all three free DLCs, Colors of Rot, Tinge of Terror, and Parting Shade, each expanding the world and enemies in this dark and gloomy metroidvania. Explore the disturbing world of GRIME where you climb over giant teeth that jet out of the walls and fight enemies with mutations that can slice with long dagger like arms, crush the player with giant hands, or even have a spiky tail to shoot projectiles at you. There are a ton more mutations that enemies can have, each needing their own ways to deal with them with some becoming giant bosses that shadow the whole room.
Also for Xbox, Playstation 4 + 5, and PC, the final free DLC, Parting Shade, is now out! Parting Shade adds a deeply challenging endgame that requires you to maximize all the abilities you’ve grown to love in rapid succession, with near perfect timing required just to barely make it through. Hope you have been practicing your movements.
